Configuration Business Analyst (Niche RMS)
Duration: 8 Months
Location: Hybrid - Remote and onsite in Warwickshire (approx. 3-4 days per month)
Rate: £500 per day (possibly negotiable)
IR35 Status: Outside

Role Overview:
A Configuration Business Analyst with Niche RMS experience is required to work on as specific programme where the client is replacing their current system and moving over to Niche RMS so this role will focus on supporting the configuration and delivery of this new records management system. As the Configuration Business Analyst you will play a key role in shaping, configuring and enabling the Niche Records Management System. This role will ensure that system configuration aligns with agreed business requirements, target operating models and standards. You will collaborate closely with the Programme Manager, Configuration Analyst, business stakeholders, operational SMEs, architects and IT colleagues together with the Niche supplier team to ensure all configuration, business process design, requirements definition, workflows and system analysis activities are delivered to a high standard.
Essential Skills & Experience required:
As the Configuration Business Analyst (Niche RMS) you will possess the following:
Proven hands‑on experience analysing, mapping, and improving AS‑IS and TO‑BE business processes using recognised modelling standards (e.g. BPMN, EPC).
Strong capability in producing high‑quality, structured documentation suitable for governance, audit, and operational use.
Proven experience eliciting, validating, and documenting clear business, functional, and non‑functional requirements aligned to system capabilities.
Skilled in assessing gaps across processes, systems, and requirements, and translating findings into structured impacts and actionable recommendations.
Proven experience designing workflow processes, including rules, decision logic, and specifications suitable for supplier configuration.
Ability to analyse system behaviour, integrations, data flows, and technical constraints to understand operational and technical impacts.
Niche RMS Configuration Expertise
Proven hands‑on experience configuring Niche RMS, including modules, entities, workflows, forms, business rules, validation rules, and mandatory fields.
Strong understanding of Niche data structures, workflows, and configuration options.
Experience configuring security roles, permissions, and validations, and delivering solutions that support high‑volume operational environments.
Experience supporting integrations, interfaces, and data model alignment, including migration activities.
Testing & Quality Assurance
Proven experience creating traceable test scenarios, validating system behaviour, and supporting effective UAT and pre‑UAT activities.
Stakeholder Engagement & Collaboration
Proven ability to facilitate collaborative engagement with diverse stakeholders, manage expectations, and resolve competing priorities in a fast‑paced environment.
Experience working within UK policing or criminal justice organisations (highly desirable), with a strong understanding of operational policing processes and records management.
Awareness of information governance, statutory obligations, compliance, audit, and information management requirements.
Proven experience developing templates, standards, and comprehensive documentation, including creation of Business Analyst Playbooks to support knowledge transfer and ongoing capability development.
Qualifications & Certifications
Minimum:
- BCS Business Analysis Foundation
- BCS Requirements Engineering (Practitioner)
- BCS Modelling Business Processes (Practitioner)
Desirable:
- Configuration Analyst certification (e.g. system configuration, application configuration, or vendor-specific such as Niche RMS)
- AgileBA (APMG)
- IIBA certifications or equivalent
