Duration: 6 Months

Rate: £600 per day

Location: Milton Keynes & remote (hybrid working)

IR35 Status: Inside

A Senior ServiceNow Developer is required for our Government client to support various tiered systems within the ServiceNow application development space.

As the Senior ServiceNow Developer you will support a wider team of skilled technicians supporting various Government platforms and services.

You will also support BAU together with project work as required.

 

Essential Skills & Experience required:

To possess strong ServiceNow scripting skills, excellent problemsolving abilities, and a collaborative mindset.

Comfortable working across multiple ServiceNow modules, leveraging APIs, and delivering automation that enhances efficiency and user experience.

Handson experience developing on the ServiceNow platform (2+ years experience preferred).

Strong knowledge of JavaScript, ServiceNow scripting, and ServiceNow API usage.

Experience with workflow development, UI customization, Flow Designer, and App Engine.

Understanding of ServiceNow data models, ACLs, roles, and platform security.

Experience with REST/SOAP integrations and common authentication frameworks (OAuth, Basic Auth).

Ability to translate business needs into scalable technical solutions.

 

Responsibilities include:

To be responsible for designing, developing, configuring, and implementing solutions on the ServiceNow platform to support business processes and improve service delivery.

This role focuses on customizing and optimizing ServiceNow applications, building new features, and integrating the platform with internal and external systems.

As the Senior ServiceNow Developer you will work closely with business stakeholders, architects, and process owners to understand requirements and translate them into scalable, highquality technical solutions.

Design, develop, and configure ServiceNow applications, workflows, forms, UI policies, client scripts, and business rules.

Customize existing modules such as ITSM, ITOM, ITBM, HRSD, CSM, or others as required.

Build custom applications using ServiceNow Studio, Flow Designer, and App Engine.

Develop and maintain client-side (JavaScript, GlideForm) and server-side (GlideRecord, GlideSystem) scripts.

Implement automation using flows, scripting, orchestration, and integration tools.

Ensure scripting follows best practices for maintainability, efficiency, and security.

Design and develop integrations using REST, SOAP, MID Server, Integration Hub, and APIs.

Collaborate with other technical teams to support data synchronization and crossplatform processes.

Troubleshoot integration issues and ensure reliable communication between systems.

Conduct unit testing, UAT support, and production deployment activities.

Maintain documentation including technical specs, configuration details, and release notes.

Provide ongoing support, troubleshooting, and platform maintenance.

 

Desirable would be any of the following:

ServiceNow certifications (CSA, CAD, CIS in ITSM/ITOM/others).

Knowledge of ITIL processes and service management best practices.

Experience with Agile/Scrum delivery.

Familiarity with DevOps pipelines and source control (Git, GitLab, Azure DevOps).
