RPT 003 Project Support Officer

A Project Support Officer (PSO) is required to provide essential project administrative, coordination, and governance support for several projects that form part of the Essential Services Programme (ESP).

Working closely with the ESP Programme Manager, the Senior Responsible Officer (SRO) and the relevant existing Project Leads, the PSO will ensure that all projects are delivered efficiently and effectively.

They will handle tasks such as maintaining documentation, tracking progress, managing communication, preparing reports, and coordinating resources and ensuring the IDS PMO System (AdaptiveWork) is maintained regularly and in line with PMO requirements.

Key Responsibilities

· Managing project documentation, maintaining records, updating plans, and organising any project meetings.

· Monitoring project progress, identifying potential risks and issues, and preparing regular reports for the relevant Project Leads, Programme Manager and SRO. It will also involve attendance at delivery boards as required. and other stakeholders.

· Assisting with resource allocation, scheduling tasks, ensuring timesheets are completed and estimates updated for caseload of allocated projects.

· Assisting with governance activities, such as audits, reviews, and compliance checks.

· Identifying, assessing, and mitigating project risks and issues for caseload of allocated projects.

· Ensuring financial management, including budget tracking and reporting for caseload of allocated projects.

· Support benefits identification, tracking and reporting across the whole ESP scheme

Skills and Qualities of a Successful PSO

· Excellent verbal and written communication skills to effectively interact with various stakeholders.

· Ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritize effectively, and meet deadlines.

· Ensuring accuracy and completeness in all documentation and reporting.

· Identifying and resolving issues that may arise during the project lifecycle.

· Working effectively with the project team and other stakeholders.

· Familiarity with methodologies like PRINCE2. Disciplined Agile etc can be beneficial.

· Ability to adjust to changing project requirements and priorities.

Length of contract: Until end March 2026

Start date of contract: ASAP

Daily Rate: No more than £30 per hour (inclusive of agency margin)
