Senior Technical Analyst
The Senior Technical Analyst is responsible for implementing, configuring, governing and evolving the technology portfolio
This is a proactive technical role and the successful candidate will have strong analytical and troubleshooting skills and a desire to learn new technologies.
The role includes several BAU tasks in supporting multiple areas of the business.
- Be responsible for ensuring the maintenance of all technologies in your relevant area of specialism.
- In collaboration with ITS Lead Technical Architect and other Senior Technical Analysts, be responsible for ensuring that the implementation of all new and existing technologies meets the design requirements.
- Manage internal and external ITS partners to ensure that implementation of any new technology's fits into existing services & infrastructure and is provisioned in a timely manner
- Be responsible for ensuring that technologies introduced have the appropriate support model in place to ensure they are maintained and supported effectively
- Carry out appropriate action to investigate and resolve incidents and problems in a timely manner and are fully documented within the relevant reporting systems
- Provide high quality management information on all installed technologies in your area of responsibility
- Provide effective monitoring and alerting for all systems in your area of responsibility
- Produce and provide input to ensure all processes are in place to enable effective management of environment and provision of service
- Ensure effective time management and planning of your activities
- Attend and gain qualifications as new technologies are introduced to ensure appropriate levels of support are maintained.
- Carry out mentoring for technical analysts within your team
- Provide out of hours support for systems and participate in standby and callout rotas
Principal Accountabilities
- To be responsible for the underlying technologies in use to deliver desktop services and the inherent supporting toolsets
- Manage the provision of desktop infrastructure for all desktop services environments ensuring (24x7) availability.
- Provide high level technical expertise and specialist knowledge for all related desktop infrastructure, specialising in at least one of the identified areas of responsibility.
- Ensure security updates and system patches are maintained for all underlying desktop service systems under your responsibility.
- Liaise with technical leads and other ITS teams on all matters relating to desktop services
- Comply with change & release management procedures
- Assist projects in establishing their server requirements
- Provide reports on usage and capacity management for all services under your responsibility
- To work closely with vendors to determine and produce a technical roadmap and support lifecycle for all desktop systems within our environment highlighting risks
- To assist with the training of technical analysts in the desktop infrastructure team to deliver a high standard of knowledge and customer service
- To keep ahead of developments in the infrastructure environments by reading relevant journals, going to meetings and attending courses
Knowledge, Skills & Experience
- Azure certifications (SC300, AZ104, ) or 5 years plus experience working in Azure
- Proven experience of actively supporting IT systems
- Proven experience of actively supporting Active Directory/AAD
- Windows server administration
- Excellent attention to detail and analytical skills
- Sound grasp of network fundamentals encompassing DNS, DHCP, TCP/IP, routing, switching and HTTP
- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills and a proven track record of working with businesses
- Manage and troubleshoot Microsoft Azure Cloud services
- A strong technical background is required with good knowledge and skills in terms of supporting one or more of the following technologies:
-Active Directory / PKI and Cert management / Endpoint Detection and Response / Azure Security products / PowerShell scripting/ Azure Active Directory
Desirable:
- Microsoft Certifications
- Familiarity with a programming or scripting language
- Experience of working within a regulated environment is highly beneficial.
