Job Description
 
 
1. Lead the development of the Enterprise Architecture response to business vision 
2. Work alongside fellow Enterprise and Solution Architects, in covering all solutions deployed in
the Enterprise, including both Corporate and Operational Technologies.
3. Support the delivery of the Programme of work for the current AMP, maintaining Architectural
representation at the Programme Management level, maintaining a clear view of architectural
debt accrued.
4. Act as a trusted adviser to the business on technology vendor and solution decision to meet the
business demand.
5. Work effectively with the Technical Architecture team to ensure alignment with roadmaps for
underlying platforms.
6. Develop appropriate procedures, road maps and strategies to support the services 
7. Develop a strategy for future AMP periods to ensure all solutions have a clear roadmap that
responds to business vision.
8. Analyse technology trends and develop an architectural response supporting agility and cost
effectiveness.
9. Fully support the Architecture Repository to collate documentation for your area, using the
tooling directed by the Lead Enterprise Architect.
10. Provide high level strategic advice for future investment in ICT systems and processes to support
business objectives.
 
11. Develop ICT architectures, standards and principles for the organisation that support the
implementation of the ICT strategy.
12. Translate business practices and processes into architectures to enable delivery of appropriate
solutions.
13. Undertake high level research, horizon scanning and analysis to identify future technology
trends, and assess applicability to support business objectives
14. Support of the Lead Enterprise Architect and Head of Architecture in delivery of Strategic Change
sessions in directing the Architecture Schedule of Work.
15. Support the Lead Enterprise Architect in developing the Architecture Schedule of Work, in
support of current AMP delivery, and plans for future AMP periods.
16. Participate in the out of hours service provision.
17. Recruit staff, to include interviewing, hiring, assigning work, training and coaching, ensuring
consistent application of Employee Guidelines, processes, and procedures.
18. Conduct regular staff performance reviews, as directed by the Lead Enterprise Architect.
19. Manage any budgets assigned in accordance with financial and contract procedures and rules
20. Undertaking any other duties as required to meet the needs of the business.
 
Essential experience
5 years experience of managing technical teams 
Experience of managing in a part-outsourced IT contract environment 
Experience of leading complex technology progammes of work 
Experience of managing in a 24*7*365 environment 
 
Desirable
Utilities experience 
Experience in multi-vendor contract environment 
 
Knowledge & Skills

Demonstrable understanding of Enterprise Architecture principles and
