Programme Manager (Web Transformation/Website Implementation Programme)

Duration: 6 Months

Location: West Midlands & remote (hybrid)

Rate: £650 - £700 per day (negotiable)

Start: ASAP

IR35 Status: Inside

Role Overview:

Our higher education client is building a new external website utilising a new market leading Digital Experience Platform (DXP), a new front end design together with a significantly rationalised content architecture.  The first phase of the website is due to launch in the Spring 2025.  It will address long standing issues with the lack of control over quality and quantity of content published to their main website and thus grow over time to encompass the content elements relating to other operations within the business.

A Programme Manager (Web Transformation / Website Implementation) is required for our higher education client to lead the Clients programme towards the launch of it's MVP phase; which will also introduce the DXP platform to the business alongside new ways of working.  As the Web Transformation / Website Implementation Programme manager you will oversee this work. The role will include defining the configuration of the new platform, delivery of front end designs in partnership with marketing colleagues and a large scale content migration phase. Additionally, you will prepare for the roll out of additional functionality to enable centralised digital asset management, in-house multi-site creation capability and new policies to control their operation.

As the Web Transformation / Website Implementation Programme manager you will possess a broad range of web and digital marketing orientated skills and liaise with business analysts, delivery managers, external agencies and internal stakeholders to drive forward this strategic programme.

Essential Skills & Experience Required:

As the Programme Manager for their Web Transformation/Website Implementation Programme you will possess the following:

  • Previous experience of leading major web transformation projects, including re-platforming, content migration and redesign
  • Experience of supplier management, including onboarding new implementation partners on the CMS and DXP arena
  • Stakeholder management up to C-suite level
  • Knowledge of agile ways of working
  • Effective budget management; £1million +
  • Experience of web best practice around user-centric design, UX methodologies, SEO and content architecture
  • Leadership and management skills, able to lead effectively, energise teams during periods of high workload and uncertainty
  • The role will include line management of both fixed term contract and contract staff; together with matrix management of other colleagues seconded to the programme
  • Previous experience of working within the higher education sector is desirable.
